As a settler on stolen land, I do not want to be passive in the conversation about Truth and Reconciliation for Canada's Indigenous communities because I want to see Indigenous cultures thrive. I am committed to learning about and acknowledging the histories and legacies of colonialism. Equally, I am committed to helping decolonize and amplify the ideas and voices of those seeking justice for Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Lands. Currently, I reside in Tkaronto, which is situated on the traditional territory of the Wendat, Anishnaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Metis, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Today, Tkaronto is encompassed by the Toronto Purchase, specifically Treaty No. 13 of 1805 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
